IEP Review

We have been trained in writing and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEP) for public schools, and we want to offer that same expertise to the Christian community.  If the student(s) you are serving currently have an IEP, we would be more than happy to explain how you can understand and address those goals in your ministry.  This action would require parental permission and support, and is best facilitated in a meeting with all concerned parties (pastor/director, teacher, parent, special ed. professional, ect.)

Address Special Concerns

We are also available for questions you may have about products, instruction, behavior, or any other concerns that arise from ministering to individuals with special needs.  We can be contacted by email, and if a phone consultation is requested, we will call you as soon as possible.

Informal Assessment

An informal assessment is conducted through interviews and surveys.  We can ask questions face-to-face, on the phone, or via email, and obtain data from the student, parents, and teacher.  All of this information will help to better understand what needs are not being met under current conditions.  In some cases, this data is enough to identify and correct any problems.

Formal Assessment
(See My Self-Help Page on Behavior Management)

When an informal assessment is not ideal or does not produce adequate result, a formal assessment may be necessary.  A formal assessment is a series of observations conducted by a special education professional.  These observation will target one student's learning and behavior management.  We will assess the cause and purpose of his/her behavior in order to address the root of the problem.  Often, the level of instruction (too easy or too hard) is a contributing factor to misbehavior.  For, this reason we will monitor the student's involvement in activities and reactions to instruction.
