Adult Volunteer Opportunities

Woodland Trails Ranger
Adults (age 21 or over) who oversee the operation of age-levels 5-11 within the Troop by providing direction, coaching, and support. 

Foxes (5-7)

Trail Guides 
Adults (age 18 or over) who assist the Ranger in delivering the Troop program.

Hawks (7-9)

Trail Guides 
Adults (age 18 or over) who assist the Ranger in delivering the Troop program.​

Mountain Lion (9-11)

Navigators Trailmaster
Adults (age 21 or over) who oversee the operation of age-levels 11-13 within the Troop by providing direction, coaching, and support.

Guidon Coach
 An older adult male (26+ years old) that is a representative of the Charter Organization and serves to oversee and provide insight as needed to the younger adults in the Guidon Unit.

Other Troop Roles

Committee Leadership Positions

​Adult Member Volunteer

     ​Adult Members support the Troop Ministry team to effectively implement the Trail Life Program and encourage Boy Members to grow in their Christan faith.

Outdoor Activities Chair

    Researches and secures permission to use camping sites or other outdoor locations for planned activities. Serves as transportation coordinator and ensures a monthly robust outdoor program for all levels.

Fundraising Chair

     Organizes and supervises fundraising events and ensures that every youth member has the opportunity and tools necessary to participate. Coordinates exciting kickoffs of your one or two focused fundraisers each year.

Advancement Chair

      Ensure that the Troop has regular boards of review (at least monthly), regular courts of honor, and is providing opportunity for timely advancement within the Trail Life USA model. Also responsible for record keeping and submitting advancement reports.

Community Service Chair

     Coordinate regular community service efforts (should include four Troop service projects per year).

Event Chair

     Support the Trail Life Mission by communicating and mobilizing varied event opportunities for Boy Members.

Health and Safety Chair

​     Keeps everyone up to date on Trail Life USA’s policies and procedures. Maintains current and comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety Guide and related documents. Ensures activity permissions and notifications are filed with the Charter Organization and Trail Life USA Home Office as required.
